CARRERA SOCCER CLUB ANNOUNCES MERGER

The leadership of Carrera Soccer Club and Sporting Columbia believe the combination of  resources would give each club the best player development environment, training facilities, and provide Central Missouri area players the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Carrera Soccer Club, founded in 1994 has been dedicated to providing competitive girls soccer in a positive environment and has alumni playing at all levels of collegiate soccer and an alum playing professionally in Europe.

Sporting Columbia, founded in 1975 has been dedicated to providing youth soccer for all skill levels encompassing both recreational and competitive programs.

The combination of two strong youth soccer organizations will provide Mid-Missouri with an incredible opportunity for continued success in the development of youth soccer.

CARRERA MOURNS THE LOSS OF ANDREA TURNER

One of the founding ladies of Carrera soccer, Andrea Turner, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.  Andrea was one of the "Originals"....a leader on the very first Carrera team in 1994.  Andrea was a quiet, but strong leader on a team filled with strong personalities.   Andrea was such an integral part of that team and an inspiration to everyone she knew.   She didn't just help lay a foundation for this girl's soccer club, she also showed how she could build on her success on the college level and in life.  Andrea helped lead the William Jewell College Cardinals to the 2003 NAIA Final Four.  She was also honored as a NAIA Daktonic Scholar Athlete in 2002.    Please keep Andrea's family: parents Ed and Diana Turner, and siblings Ashley and Alex,  in your thoughts and prayers.
